STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSE’S MOUTH
Sometimes silly, at times sultry, but always spicy, Coz Sangfroid is an entertainer and creator with a deep love of circus and music. His goals are to share and spread the joy that these two powerful, ever-evolving forces can bring, while exploring what it means to be alive.
Coz’s first memory was riding an elephant at the circus at the ripe age of 2. He vividly remembers the wisdom and sadness felt from the creature, and is very happy that the world is moving away from using animals as entertainment. In this new age of circus where humans are at the front of the stage, Coz aims to please the audience by telling stories through his training in aerial arts and fire performances. The next step for Coz is integrating different artforms with circus and bringing them to the people, ushering in the next era of circus.
Musically, Coz began his training on the guitar, but his real love of music flourished as he started attending music festivals all over the world. After seeing and feeling some of the world’s biggest and most hi-tech sound systems, Coz was left inspired to not only create and curate music, but to also share it with the world. Recently, Coz has gotten back to the art of music production and the craft of DJing. Until the world reopens again, he is excited to share it exclusively over the internet.
Worlds collided between music and circus for Coz at the Burning Man Pavilion in 2019, where he performed Emergent Consonance with Zel Tyrant, a 30 minute aerial show with the majority of the music being produced, and fully mixed, by him. Since then, Coz has been working tirelessly to make his vision happen.
